The enduring beauty of Bluestone.

Bluestone isn’t actually a specific type of stone. It’s a term for a number of different kinds of natural stones, formed over millions of years of volcanic activity.

Stonehenge is built of Bluestone, there’s Bluestone all over New York and in Melbourne you can hardly find a historic building that isn’t built with Bluestone.

It’s a deep blue to begin with, and fades in the sun over time to a light natural grey. It’s durable and slip resistant, which is why it’s used a lot in areas of heavy traffic.

Bluestone stain removal

Bluestone is volcanic, which means it’s a slightly porous material, and unfortunately that means now and again, a stain might seep into the pours. Minor stains can be removed with a good scrub, but if it goes deeper, then give us a call, we can help. And be careful with some of the removal techniques you might find on line, Bluestone can actually degrade if you use the wrong chemicals.
